Description

Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced clinical care across the continuum of patient services in accordance with established evidence-based practice standards and company policies. The NP performs comprehensive assessments, conducts physical examinations, orders and interprets diagnostic and laboratory studies, prescribes medications and treatments, and delivers direct patient care. The NP contributes to excellence in patient care, patient education, operational efficiency, and professional leadership within the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including health histories and physical exams.

  • Document findings with attention to both normal and abnormal results.

  • Order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.

  • Develop, implement, and adjust short- and long-term treatment plans.

  • Perform approved procedures such as wound care, biopsies, suturing, immunizations, and specimen collection.

  • Prescribe and manage medications and therapeutic interventions in compliance with Nevada state and federal regulations.

  • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatments, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care.

  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in quality improvement, education, and research initiatives as appropriate.

  • Contribute to staff training, mentorship, and professional development.

  • Assist with clinic operations including scheduling, patient flow, and staff collaboration.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Nevada.

  • National Board Certification as an NP in area of specialty (e.g., Family, Adult-Gerontology, Acute Care).

  • Current DEA certificate with a Nevada address and state prescriptive authority.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in medical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of clinical experience in primary care, family practice, or specialty practice.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if required by practice setting).

  • Bilingual skills (e.g., English/Spanish) desirable.

Licenses & Certifications – Nevada Requirements

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license – Nevada State Board of Nursing.

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Nevada State Board of Nursing.

  • DEA registration (Schedule II–V) with Nevada address.

  • Nevada Board of Pharmacy license (if prescribing/dispensing).

  • Board Certification by AANP, ANCC, or equivalent recognized accrediting body.
